Alms Houses lately wasted by fire. He should have a lease of the ground whereupon the messuage did
stand for 500 years paying a peper-corn rate.
The money with a greater sum of money to be raised by the Trustees to be expended in & about the
building of a new Alms House in some other more convenient place in the town of Beccles, for the use
and benefit of the poor people in & belonging to the same town.
[The Trustees] have bargained & sold all that piece of ground whereupon the messuage calle the
Almshouse did latelt stand lying BETWEEN the messuage sometime of Thomas Gosling, now of thomas
Wyatt the younger, on the north; and a certain common land on the south; and abutteth upon a tent or
garden sometime of Thomas Gosling, now of thomas Wyatt toward the east; and a street called
Smallgate toward the west.
